In addition to emails being sent via PostageApp, we are also sending text messages via email. We were sending these text messages thru corresponding sms domain servers for each cell phone carrier. When using these sms domains, messages arrive to target user with a FROM value of "[email blocked]". This is exactly what we intended. However, when we use the MMS domain servers from each carrier, the same messages come from "[email blocked]". Not sure why this is happening. Any assistance would be appreciated. Feel free to call at 614-595-7411. Thanks.

The envelope sender, which is distinct from the "From:" field, defaults to [email blocked]. This is where bounce-back return messages are sent to.

You can edit this for each project if desired. Normally the default is adequate, but if for some reason it's not working out for you that'd be the quickest fix.

The "Return Path" field here is what you adjust:

    Thanks Scott,

We tried your suggestion last night and now all text messages (via email) are not being sent out from PostageApp. Is there something else we can try?

    Scott,

Just following up on my last communication. We have tried your last suggestion but still have not resolved this issue. Again, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did changing the Return Path have any impact on the outgoing MMS messages?

You can change the Return Path here:

    https://groupsafe.postageapp.com/projects/21715/edit

That should be adjustable to any address that accepts email replies. Some servers get really cranky when you give a bogus email, they often take the time to test it, and will reject your deliveries. It's possible that "noreply" is one such trigger. Do you have another working address that could be used?

We did try changing the Return Path per your instructions. We are using noreply when we send an email via your service with success. However, when we try this same noreply address with a text message, Postage App doesn't send this message. Again, if we remove this noreply from the FROM address, the text gets sent out. Suggestions?
