Do you allow users to unsubscribe from mailings? That would be a great feature to have (offload the opt-out to PostageApp).

    Hi Eric,
I'm not sure how you're using PostageApp, but typically our customers are using Postage to send automated application generated emails, not newsletter list sends.

Could you give me an example on how you would benefit from having an unsubscribe?

    Thanks,
    Andrés

For example, after a user signs up we send them a welcome email. We also want to send them followup emails (e.g. a help email if they haven't figured out how to use the app, a different email explaining advanced features). There's always a slim chance that someone will sign up another user on their behalf, just to spam them.

In general, any automated email (including the sign up email) should have an unsubscribe link which a user can click on, meaning "I don't want any emails from you, ever, even if someone tries to sign me up".

    Hey Eric,
I understand your logic for wanting an opt-out however Postage doesn't manage your app's email lists -- it receives direct requests from your app, and then processes the messages.

You might want to consider dropping an unsubscribe link directly into your templates, which notify your app directly.

If you'd like to discuss this further, let me know and we can chat offline.

    Thanks,
    Andrés
