Message size limit under Egg Plan

What if we go over the message size limit under the Egg Plan? The undelivered messages will be shown as Failed or Queued under the dashboard? If so, does the system automatically send them when available or we have to do it manually? Thanks!

    Hey Ben,

If you go over the message size limit (which is actually referring to the size of the API call you are making) then the system automatically rejects your transmission.

Currently we're running our app in private alfa (not even beta).

It would be great if undelivered emails (caused by reaching the daily limit) could be queued in the PostageApp Dashboard so could be send manually the next day.

Is there something that can be done to queue those emails in the app itself? Thanks!

I'm using Ruby On Rails plugin (Rails 3) and the PostageAPP API provides response.status to check the delivery status, but it doesn't check for undelivered mails caused by limit reach. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hey Ben,

Apologies on not writing back sooner, this may have slipped through my radar, really sorry!

Could you send me an email at [email blocked] so we can work something out? I'm sure a few other people may run into this problem and I'd like to see how the messages are handled on the backend before taking action.

    Thanks Ben!

I am curious to know how PostageApp handled benoror's request for queuing of mails if one goes over the daily limit. Thanks.

The Ruby plug-in has a facility to store up API calls and send them at a later time. This approach would work for other languages and frameworks if you're hitting your limit.

Paid accounts have a significantly higher sending limit than the free plan and there is an allowance for going over your suggested daily limit provided you don't exceed your monthly quota. There is a thirty day free trial for the two entry-level packages as well if you'd like to experiment with sending more mail.
