Hi am wondering what I must do to get the senders name to format in an email.
For instance If I send from [email blocked] and it shows in gmail as notify.

I looked into this and it appears that if the email senders address is formatted in a specific way it will show the senders name. THis seems to be standard for email clients but not when sending through the API. do I need to set the from portion of the header to something like <Custom Name> [email blocked]?

You'll need to use the RFC822/RFC2822 standard format for this:

    Email Notifier <[email blocked]>

You can specify any name you like, but the email address must be in angle brackets <...>

You can probably find some examples in your inbox if you look closely at the raw source for a given email message.

This format applies to "From", "To", "Cc" and "Reply-To" headers.
